Media in a changing Global Culture

Nowadays, physical distance is no longer a barrier, instantaneous communication around the globe is possible. However, some developments in media globalization produce positive changes, some seem to be a cause for alarm.In my presentation I will focus on potential consequences of mass media globalization and its contribution to social change. As an example, I am going to consider the globalization of music. In the second part, the so-called "Cultural Imperialism" - media products from the West shaping the Cultures of other nations - shall be discussed.
