Intercultural Competence as Key Qualification

In my speech I want to present features of intercultural competence and show
why intercultural knowledge has become a key qualification in today's global
societies.
Today, English has become the language which most communication processes
are based on, but people need to improve their sensibility for foreign
cultures as well. Knowing English as a foreign language does not
automatically imply the knowledge about other cultures' rituals, routines,
and proceedings but this very knowledge needs to be provided in order to
assure communication without major conflicts and misunderstandungs.
